if you plan on keeping boost stock, the ARP rod bolts are way enough for you. the problem with the studs is you cant just drop the head on and go cuz the nuts dont fit through the bolt holes, stuff gets in the way.
i have studs but i got a stupid good deal. they just take more finesse than the bolts. as for gasket kits, any full kit will work. personally fel-pro has good ones, and their hg's meet or exceed factory specs (definitely wanted) and are quality controlled. go with the bolts unless you get a good deal, and when you install them, feed them through the head, then thread the nuts almost all the way down, then carefully set the head down, and use an allen key to thread the studs into the block until they are snugged. then tighten the nuts down to spec. bolts are much easier, and in your case more than enough, just my opinion ![]()

I would rather not have "studs" in my Supra
![]() Would it really make a difference for me? My guy has a gentle life and the fastest he goes is on the turnpike, lets call it 75 to 85 mph and I usually shift around 3500 rpm. Oh should I torque the head bolts? The dealer put the reconditioned head on my guy and have no ideal what they did.

studs are overkill for n/a. i got them like i said, for a smoking deal, and i plan to boost later. bolts are more than sufficient 99% of the time, if not stock bolts, then ARP bolts.
a reconditioned head should have been milled, new cams/reground cams, new valves, retainers, keepers, springs, buckets, shims and all checked to spec. call them an ask them what their reconditioned head includes. if they cant tell you everything or shrug their shoulders, be questionable.

yes headbolts need to be re torqued after a few heat cycles.. or maybe your shop over torqued them to start with.. don't think thats the best idea.
