Blown Turbo
I have a blown turbo and my car still drives fine just no boost...would I break or damage anything if i tried drifting with it or going fast?
|
It depends entirely on how it "broke"... It any debris did or were to come loose your engine could be completely trashed, but that would happen at just about any speed.
As for how it'll run if debris doesn't make it into the system well... it'll be weaker than a 7M-GE. The intake is one hell of a restriction, the system isn't set up to make torque at lower RPM like the N/A, the compression is quite low for a N/A....Basically in a 3400lb crippled N/A you'd be a laughing stock at any drift event. But, just because of the potential for damage I would advise you swap in a N/A intake setup and exhaust. |
okay thanks i have a new turbo but it doesn't fit the stock downpipe so i just need a new one and a oil line kit

If the compressor wheel or the compressor housing show any signs of having lost material pull the intercooler and thoroughly flush it with some kerosene. The kerosene will remove any accumulated oil which any debris will hopefully have adhered to.
You're fuel mixture is also likely to be a good amount richer than you want at WOT. |
i once owned a sunbird with a busted turbo. I wired the wastegate open so it would run and boy let me tell you.. I had to wait for a HUGE opening in traffic in order to pull out safely
