Question If it ain't broke don't fix it

This winter I decided to replace my head gasket. After I removed the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and timing belt related components, I realized that the head gasket had already been replaced (a metal head gasket with ARP studs). While I had everything apart, I replaced the timing belt and related components. In addition, I decided to do a knock sensor rewire, even though I wasn't having any problems with the knock sensor. After reassembling everything, my check engine light now comes on every time I accelerate past 1/4 throttle. If I shut off the car and start it again, the check again light will not turn back on until I accelerate. I keep getting code 52 (for the knock sensor).

I did notice after I finished that I used the wrong wire for the rewire. I used a solid core wire. I'm wondering if it's possible that i have bad knock sensors or that the solid core wire broke somewhere. i plan on checking the wire from the ecu pin to the knock sensor connector. Is it possible to have a bad knock sensor with out the CEL being on, due to faulty wiring and now that the wiring is good the CEL comes on?

Yes, your trouble could very well be due to the wire. What kind of wire is it exactly? You're best off using shielded coax. Look in the FAQ section for info on rewiring the knock sensors that works. The signal is VERY sensitive and very easy to distort.

found the issue.. to much solder on the knock sensor connector and the terminal was not secured properly

I also need help. After the rewire I also now have the abs light on and my temp gauge is not working. I know one has nothing to do with the other but I didnt have the light on before and my gauge was working.

I pulled the codes for the abs and got code 11 ABS Solenoid Relay Circuit and code 33 rear wheel speed senor malfunction. wtf.

Which out of the 4 coolant sensors are the the gauge?

With the ABS codes... well, just inspect that wring and go by the book. The sensor should be an easy fix and the solenoid shouldn't be too bad depending on where the issue lies.

Good luck with it, I'm taking off for a couple days.
