performance module
i was reading a magazine and i seen something called a Venom 400 Performance Module capatible with the MKIII supras. it says its suppose to increase horsepower by 25%. has anyone used this. is this true and worth getting. if not what else could i get for around $500 that would help. i already have a K&N FIPK kit and a custom 2 1/2" catback exhaust
I read something on them along the way (3 yrs of 89 N/a ownership). It sounded better than it probably is. 25% increase would be 50 more hp...
i know thats what i was thinking, thats quite a bit
iirc this was asked recently on the forum
i think it was just a chip of some sort... wouldn't really waste my time with it... spend your money on upgrading the ct26 to a 57trim or something ;) |
Sounds like one of those ebay chips... all they do is raise the amount of fuel u use..... i hear we are rich enough as it is... plus with gas prices... not a good idea
yeah thats a good point. is there anything i can do to my car for around $500 (i'm young and kind of limited with money as of right now)
upgrade turbo!!!
i think pricing is between $4-600 for upgrading the ct26 to a decent size :) i upgraded mine to a 46 trim and she was an awesome turbo or exhaust intake intercooler hardpipes |
i dont have a turbo
already have exhaust and intake |
buahahaa it's 2am forgive me... i should have read your sig
like Russ is sayin lately... i'm  hehe k what bout cold air box... colder air = more power headers? i think they'd have to be custom made tho |
Pacesetter makes a header for the N/A. Advancing your timing helps quite a bit, but make sure your cooling system is up for a little more heat. Cams would be nice but they are expensive!
Oh yeah.....finally she admits it!! Being  I mean, j/k. Goodnight Supraa-girl. Russ |
i was thinking about getting that flex-a-lite dual fan or whatever its called
I own a 88 NA supra, last year i purchased the pace setter headers, believe it or not, it improved performance a lot, especially top end. I have a HKS intake, pace setter headers, and i'm soon getting the pace setter cat back exhaust, i was told it is good to match your exhaust for optimum performance. As far as the headers i think its definately worth the money, i think i payed around $199.00 for the headers. I hate the fact that i can't help myself by buyin all this stuff for my NA motor even though i'm gettin ready to rebuild my GTE motor and put it in there. I'm gonna buy that pace setter cat-back exhaust, i'll let u know how it does.
where did you get your headers from? places i found was like $300
By the way, those Pacesetter headers are not Calif. smog legal. I've searched the net for CARB exempt headers, no luck.
Pacestter Headers
I have a pacesetter exhaust and a few other mods and i want to get the headers because my supra is NA. Is it insanely loud. mine is somewhat loud now but the pacesetter exhaust looks stock so never have any problems.
I'm about to put my pace setter exhaust on, what kind of power difference did you notice, was it noticeable?
Well I'm trying to think i got the exhaust a year ago.... If there was a power increase it was slight however I think if you use them in cunjunction with the headers. they should work together very well. The sound wasn't bad at all in low rpms and idle its a slight rumble and after 2500rpms it just sounds nice not annoying. I don't know if you have to worry about cops where your at but where i am any aftermarket engine part is illegal so I like that it looks stock, which makes it a sleeper somehow. But please let me know how the headers sound together because i really want to get them but like i said about the cops.
One more thing thats is important.... Definitely worth the money:)

I got it today, it sounds pretty good but at certain rpms it can get pretty loud.
At the lower rpms or the higher rpms? Did you feel any difference in performance?
