car runs better without air flow meter?!?! wtf
 
89 supra 7mgte, car will not idle with the air flow meter hooked up but as soon as you unplug it it idles but its high, so does this mean the meter is bad??
any help would be appreciated

Yup, it's most likely bad... I guess you haven't tested it?

If that all tests out try to borrow a known good one or find someone with an oscilloscope and the specs to test it thoroughly.

i would test the air flow sensor and check the idle control valve it might help some

Also check the vacuum line coming off the ps pump To the bottom of the accordion pipe. My old 7m did that when I would forget to hook that sneaky little thing up.
