Default HELP, Downpipe installation + which DP.

This is the one i'm going to get..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...ltDomainQ5f100

UNINSTALLATION + INSTALLATION OF DP
I think I should just unbolt the down pipe from the turbo elbow and the elbow from the turbo. Then get under the car and unbolt the stock down pipe from the cat.
Then slip on the new one in it's place with all the new gaskets. Bolt it in and that's it.

Please let me know if installation is as easy as that..

or should i do this dp..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...Q5fAccessories

I keep hearing that divorced dp is the way to go.. idk though.. Is it legal in Oregon. Is it legal at all. You can't use test pipes here.. Anyways I don't think it is since your bypassing the cat in some way. Anyways, what one is better.. Most likely it is better because if you can create anything that is somewhat a bypass you get a gain (in a turbo car)..

3" Downpipe with Divorced Wastegate (DDP) -- 369$

Always worth the extra coin to skip the cheap Chinese made ebay products

The purpose of divorced pipe is it gets the turbulent air released from the waste gate out of the main flow which helps improve exhaust flow.
If your worried about legalities they will recirculate the divorced flow back into the main pipe as well.

Its just a pipe though. I don't get why I would spend more on the brand name. What is the difference? Please just give me an explanation so I understand. Its a pipe with no moving parts to me. A long as its thick enough and made if the right metal, I would even put a mario brother warp tube down there.

Its the good old "you get what you pay for" theory. Which is why I don't like much of what is sold on ebay. The pipe looks good in the picture but without seeing the welds and quality of metal, you don't know what is will look like down the road. I don't know how the tanabe here is:

But I have some suspension braces of theirs on my celica that are pretty nice and they are made in japan.

Ok this is the one I will get.. Better metal, and its divorced but legal.. Comes with gaskets too!!

So will someone confirm my instructions for the installation? Is it just that easy? a few bolts and bang done..?

It's a bitch to do I can tell you that....There is like almost no room to work with....Measurements of the down pipe are almost always off....Make sure you have new bolts and lock washers ready.....Some PB blaster a friend to help you re attach the cat to the down pipe because it's a bitch....Probably want to go ahead and get new rubber anchors for the exhaust too because they are probably dry rotted and cracked but anyway good luck with it.
