nuts and bolts
 

Ok so I was rebuilding my supra's engine and I got forced to move, so how I have lost over half of the nuts and bolts off of the motor and conceting pieces.

Does anyone have a list of the nuts, bolts and sizes need?

Try to find another one in the junkyard and take off all the nuts and bolts you can find. Most Toyota's use the same sized bolts and nuts, so all you need are the 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19 mm wrenches. Bring a bucket and pull the nuts and bolts off the Toyota's and get a good variety, but mostly the smaller stuff in varying lengths. I know that doesn't help much and maybe someone out there has a parts breakdown, but if not this may be the best way to go. Don't get the metric stuff off the American cars. Usually the threads are different on them.

bummer you lost most of em heh... but usually just standard bolts.. not too hard to find :)

you might want to get one of those supra manuals, you know from uh the chiltons ones, to make sure that the supra doesnt have some funky stretch head bolts or some crap like that, my toyota pickup had those, i dont know if toyota used them on the supra :)

if you lost your headbolts i would suggest getting brand new toyota ones or arp's ;)

So I wonder what happened? Did he find any bolts? Did he just give up? I know it is a pain finding the right lengths of bolts for certain areas. The ARP head stud kit is probably the best suggestion for that area. How much is the engine apart anyway? Maybe some of us could help with a few pictures when we know just where you are with that engine.

the engine is almost all the way back together. The head, turbo, flywheel are on. I don't have any of the bolts for the pressure plate, bellhousing, or any of the connecting brackets

Oh well then..................those bolts are easy to find on any other Toyota in the junkyard. The bolts that hold the pressure plate are all the same, 12 mm head, about 3/4 of an inch long. The brackect on the sides are the same as any other front engine rear drive Toyota. They are all 14 mm heads about an inch to an inch and a half long. The bell housings are also 14 mm heads but about 3 inches long. My Supra has the 14 mm head bolts while my 22R 4 cylinder used the 17 mm head sized bolts to hold the bell housing together, never had either one break, but just seemed odd.

The bolts holding the trans mount to the frame where just 12 mm heads on the supra and the ones to the trans had 14 mm heads. The nuts on the lower side if the engine mounts were 19 mm heads and the bolts that held the motor brackets to the block were all 14 mm heads 3/4 to 1 inch in length.
