looking at supra but has afm issues any ideas?
 

So it drives but throws a check engine light randomly when it does the check engine light trick it wont go over 2000 rpm than it runs fine when the light is gone is this common? Should i get a new afm or is it common for the wires to come loose? Ive had tons of problems with my toyota pickups afm ive replaced it 4 times is it just a toyota thing to have bad ones?

Oh yeah and its a 90 7mgte motor if that makes a difference

So are you actually getting a code for the AFM? Or are you assuming that's what it is? The cars aren't prone to AFM problems, unless it's been neglected by someone or improperly cared for. Check the wiring, make sure it isn't loose or broken. Post up what codes you get when you read them.

Sounds like limp mode.... not something a bad AFM is going to cause... try the knock sensor or its wiring. Doesn't sound like you've checked for codes, so do that first.
