Hi all,

i am wanting to change the stock air filter on my supra to a carbon fibre induction kit i have, i have brought an adaptor plate to make the filter fit but the damn thing will not fit onto the air flow meter thing although it was apparently made to fit my car lol
I have tried removing the air flow meter and fitting the kit on instead of that but the car will then only tick over, if i rev it the revs drop and the engine cuts out.

Is it possible to remove this air flow meter and not have the engine cut out ?

please someone help as this new kit looks amazing in carbon and i am bored with just looking at it on my desk lol

if your car has an air flow meter, then it MUST remain there. the afm is what measures the air coming into the engine. thats why at idle it stay's running, at idle it just runs off presets, as soon as you rev it though, it has to find a way to measure the air coming in. only way to get rid of it is to convert to some form of engine management. if it does not bolt up to your afm, then it is not made for your specific car, could be for a mk3, but not for your engine. could be for a 1g, or a 1jz, or a 7m.
