I'd say stick with the Supra. Usually if somebody is giving away a car cheap that's in good condition that needs "just this" to run, there's probably much more wrong with it. Besides, have you tried to work on the engine in a 300zx? There's not much room to get your fingers past the intake plenums.
The way I see it, you have an idea of what's good and bad on your Supra, so you know what to expect. Keep fixing it up and enjoy it.

good point... ill probably get my supra painted and get a new tubo because mine is gettin old... thanks for your opinion and yes you are correct that the 300zx engines are jammed packed....
