MKIII Timing belt adjustment help
 
So i bought the car block machined and rebuilt, turboed, and he said he redid the timming on it, but while driving around 40mph like 2k rpm the car would jerk back and forth, he said the timing might be off,anyways whats the easyest way to do this, could some one give me detailed info, ive tryed searching ( found nothing), and looking tru my heynes manual(no luck again :( )

the haynes manual has it all

Get a timing light and check the timing

before you can do anything with a timing light. you have to have a timing belt installed and alligned correctly...

but yes a timing light is a very handy thing to have. and should be used to set your dist. timing when finished with your belt.

well timing was at 12, now i gotta get a better cam shaft sensor

12 deg with or without the check connector link ? and why replace the CPS ? just rotate it, as state in 8 (c) Link

guy said the cam shaft sensor might be bad, but engine runs good, except for the starting issue :/

Yeah....... As Bill UK said, set the CPS. It's adjustable. Or you can go waste your money on a new one and STILL have to set it the exact same way...
