I did a lot of homework before i bought my MK3 and I checked out a couple websites a while back. Yes there were 33,283 made in1986.5 counting n/a and turbos all the way to 1989 where 14544 were made. My 91 had only 3,623, of all MK3's the most rare besides the turbo-A (production of only 500) in japan ONLY! was the 92 it only had 1,193 made! For the MK4 the 96 was the most rare at 852 in production. non-useful knowledge lol
