well the NA transmission was "weaker" then the standard turbo transmission.

R154
  • First Gear: 3.250:1
  • Second Gear: 1.955:1
  • Third Gear: 1.310:1
  • Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
  • Fifth Gear: 0.753:1

but the NA and turbo automatic tranny the A034e are the same..
so swapping in a W58 really should of messed to much.
  • First Gear: 3.285:1
  • Second Gear: 1.894:1
  • Third Gear: 1.275:1
  • Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
  • Fifth Gear: 0.783:1
  • Reverse: -3.768:1
Turbos do go out on a 20 year old car.. specially if there not maintained or people push too much boost with out proper precautions.
