Starting a front clip
Hey guys im gettin a 1jz front clip on weds. Whats the best way to start it while its in the clip? Short start up warranty is why I'm starting it in the clip...
|
ive seen vendor ads were they show the clip running and revving. as far as i can tell they just started it. let me see if I can dig up the link.. brb
this one shows it running. could of sworn i seen one being started http://jfautopartsupply.blogspot.com...e-engines.html he posts from time to time in the for sell section. |
That's the first time I have seen the gauges of a jdm. those are freaking sick. How hard are they to change over or can it even be done. I have a LHD.
So if it comes with the key all I have to do is hook up a fuel pump right? |
Thought id update for future readers I received my clip and it had the key glued into the ignition so it couldn be lost during shipping. All I had to do was put a battery in and and hook up a FUEL INJECTION fuel pump. Not a carburater pump. My fuel lines had been pinched so fuel couldn't leak out I used a pipe cutter so I had a nice clean line to hook a 5/8 fuel line too and just ran the return to the gas can. Then it fired right up. Nothin to it.

http://www.jrautoparts.com/clip_toyota_1jz.htm They had great customer service i bought the last one he had in stock as of 3 weeks ago. it shipped out the next day and i received the tracking number before the clip was even picked up.. only took 4 days to get delivered to my house. I paid 2700 for the clip plus 450 shipping.. not the cheapest i found but he sent me a video of it running and it only has 80356km or 49,930 miles.. He even threw in a driveline for free cuz im doin an auto to manual swap. body panels are included but not in good shape as described by Weiming lian from the start.. but it has the 2.5 twin turbo grille insert i wanted which alot dont come with.. BTW moving the clips are by far the hardest thing i ever tried to do i have a steep drive way and they just drop it in the road.. i eventually put a roller in the back (for my snowmobile) and had a set of stock 04 mustang wheels i put on it. made it tons easier BUTTTTT there was no steering wheel so the tires wanted to keep turning.. Green7mgte i do plan on documenting and photographing everything.. although its a very common swap there is not really a step by step instructions with pictures, that i have found anyways. I will definatly post them whn im finished. i even bought a new camera to break in on it... |
thanks man and as for the step by step pic that is a good idea man it also helps out people in the future good luck with your swap i bet its b worth it in the end man
