its a 20 year old car.. and people drive the crap out of them.. do yourself a favor and replace all the coolant hoses at the same time.. not one at a time when they blow like i did...

MORE PROBLEMS egr?

ok so now i come to find out i need a radiator. gonna have to wait till next month on that one.

but i want to fix the egr problem.... by deleting it.
my only question is i read people thinking they would have to take the head off in order to intall the plates and my leak is on the block on the intake side?? can i just block the intake side of the block and the intake mainfold.

is there anything on the back of the head that i have to block?

i wouldnt delete the egr.. it does your car good. like milk for the exhaust system. makes your body cold and grow up strong..

u may have checked already but check the thermostat. If its stuck closed it will cause an overheating problem, then that leads to leaks and so on. Wrong temp thermostat can do the same thing if its really hot where you are.also i would suggest a system flush in case there are any blockages. As the coolant system like to build scale and will cause havock if left to long. One more thing, unfortunately in our cars if you have had a overheating problem and its been serious, chances are you have a bhd

Test the thermostat in a pot of water on the stove and use a thermometer to make sure it's opening at the right temp. Details are in the TSRM.

Hmm quite the pickle you have there. Having your egr hooked up will definitely help cool things down in your cylinders and take care a pesky nox. Are you having any probs with your cooling fans at all?

o man why does it have to be so simular to my problem? lol About a month ago I bought my first car. An '88 supra with a 7mge engine. anyway it overheated on me on my 2hr drive back home and i(my mechanic, i gave up) found out the radiator wasn't pumping out enough coolant at higher rpms. so I switched out the radiator with a all metal one and changed the clutch fan for added safety. As of now i have no heating problems.:crazy2:
