You can use a SAAB BPV, info on that is here. I believe that is a piston-type BPV

Ran one on my MKIII. They flow well and have a fairly quick response time. They're inexpensive and (if you're into sound and have an aftermarket intake) are a little bit louder when they vent.

howd he make the biger adapters?
Im down with that replacement.. I think the BPV is better anyhow.
any insight on the hoses you used and the adapters?

Thanks for the link thats a great idea. Any idea how much boost they can handle whn I'm done with my build ill only be around 18 absolute high boost more like 15 regularly. How will this hold up. I also seen u can get an adapter for rs style bov for the saab 9000 a lot of those have straight discharge port.

the bosh saab bov sounds like an owl.

There are a few bov's which can be recirculated, Greddy, Synapse, HKS... IIRC all of these makers make adapters for certain models of their BOVs.

The Bosch shown in that writeup is only really good up to 12-13psi. Beyond that there are other versions of it (by Bosch) which will hold more but cost a bit more. Shouldn't take much research to find the model number... I can't remember it.

You could always run TWO Bosch BPVs. ;)

NOTE: BPV = ByPass Valve a common name for a recirculating BOV (Blow Off Valve).

What the hell is that?? Compressor surge through a BOV with lips??

I've run the Bosch BOV on two different cars and know several people locally who run them. They make a flat out Whoooosh sound.. no whistle, no flutter.

Interestingly, it seems, my stock BPV on my 2 (which is behind a VAFM) seems to be louder.... I really don't think it is, just the fact that it's behind me and very close compared to my Supra's makes it seem that way.

lol idk it was on the sogi page for the saab bov install.
is it really all that difficult to install it.. larger hoses and so forth. still caught up on getting larger adapters. they would have to taper to fit into the stock locations.

Go to the parts store, go in back and find two hoses which reduce.... sheesh... get over it, it's no big deal... you don't need to go to the trouble of building some sort of adapter.

No BOV will ever sound more impressive than the duck call BOV. I'm thinking about piping one in as a secondary with a VSV on the signal hose so I can turn it on and off at will.
