87 GTE Help/Opinions

I have an 87 turbo that blew the head gasket about 4 years ago and it has been sitting ever since with the top half af the motor off. I have everything i need to put it together. I am looking for opinions on whether to put it back together and sell it, sell it as is, or part it out. Any way I have no intention of keeping the car. What would be the "value" of the car in these three different conditions? There is some pitting on the block from sitting all this time, and I was wondering if a factory head gasket will work, I am sure that I won't be able to get the finish that would be required for a MHG. Thanks, Cheers!

well IMHO. you would be able to sell it as a parts car or have someone who knows what their doing look at the block and see if its re surface-abl. post a couple pictures of the block itself would you?
and apart from that, if the other pieces of the engine are not to badly damaged than you could probably get your initial investment in parts for the rebuild back and then some. I myself have been looking for a parts car for some time.. and I live in Ohio..small world yea?

but theraretically if you take the block in and have it re surfaced and get it back together to driving condition. I don't foresee anyone not buying it for under 1k.. that is sight unseen. a motor alone goes for that much if its in working condition. hows the rest of the car.. ? interior? transmission? do you have all your trims and panels? is the dash cracked? things like that will bump up the price if your going to sell it whole.

but.. 3 years in a yard or field with the top half of the motor ripped off is a risky deal,I think. I wouldn't tell anyone else that.
