Well, the factory Toyota filters are re-branded Purolator filters. I've used both Fram and Purolators, depending on the deal, in all my Toyotas, and have 250,000 to 350,000 miles on them all with no indications of oil wear. My Toyota P/U with the 22R needed a new headgasket at 250,000, and you could still see the cross-hatch pattern in the cylinder walls. It has 325,000 on it now. The Celica has 354,000 miles on it, and the top of the cylinder head under the valve cover is as clean as a whistle. My Supra has 255,000 miles on it, and oil pressure remains strong.
