1990 Supra Turbo need help with oil leak
 

so i just bought a 1990 supra turbo off of a guy who was moving about a week back and he didnt know much about her. im 17 and have really only worked on cheap cars before so i dont know much shes a 5 sp manual and runs and shifts perfect just has a pretty bad oil leak and everything in the engine is covered in oil fan radiator both sides hood was oil in the air intake pretty much just everywhere and we've spent bout 3 days looking for the oil so today while we had her partially apart we were gonna change the spark plugs and low and behold the intire chamber was filled to the brim with oil err all the chambers i should say so i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before or could possibly shoot me some suggestions, well thanks ill peak in in a few.

Oil Leaks
 

The main leakers on the car are the valve cover gaskets, the oil plugs which are the huge allen head caps down the center of the spark plugs, and the main front crank seal. All of us have experienced oil pools in the Spark Plug chambers. Don't know how you got so much oil all over the engine though. The oil on the top of the motor would be from the oil plug caps and the valve covers. Easy to repair, but you have to remove the Y assembly. I resealed my oil plugs with Hi Temp RED RTV. Only hand tighten real snug the valve covers down onto the new Valve cover gaskets. Not to tight. Also becareful of not stripping the oil plug caps the metal plate that runs down the length of the motor catches on the threads. Be careful when you seal these back up. The plugs take a 14MM allen socket like I have pictured for you. You will most likely find them very loose. Do not overtighten these when you put them back in.

ah i see well ill probly give that a try tomorrow thanks bro and yeah i didnt know if that was common or not good to know im not the only one lol yeah im not sure either its not like heavy but sure is drippin like a pro >.< we opened that up today though and its like oh great...now what well thanks again il definitely be around here quite a bit im sure gonna be putting a lot of work into her and gotta learn from someone XD
