Hey fellow enthusiasts, even though i just replied pretty confidently to a post titled "supras in the snow", i am kindof having second thoughts, and the big question is, what can you do ?, i mean i live in manitoba canada, and up north here the winters are 8 months long and then theres one month spring, two months summer and one month fall, so i don't want to have to take the bus everywhere for 8 months a year, i mean i know two ppl with supras that are parking them this year but aren't always going to because lets face it, the bus sucks, it's the worst thought for me, taking the bus, EVERYWHERE... *shutter* and there's got to be some way, SOME way to make a supra worthy and safe for winter, but i guess no car is really "safe" in winter, what with the ice but i was thinking "what if"... i got a second set of wheels with heavy duty winter tired on them just for winter and then switched them over for the cold season... would that work ?, i personally think it would, and then have my shiney slicks un harmed and ready to burn out when the cement comes out of hiding for the summer... if anyone has some suggestions please let me know, becuase 1: I AM GETTING MY DAMN SUPRA!!! (I'm convinced it's my destiny), and 2: I AINT MOVING ANY TIME SOON, and finally, 3: IT HAS TO BE POSSIBLE, without turning it into some low powered granny car... anyways, let me know, thanx, SupraDieter :D

really skinny tires and many sand bags in the trunk, i know that my rear end wants to pass me at like 30 on the snow on a straight road with no input form me lol, its hairy 225's are way too wide to cut through the snow efficiently. more like a sled at speeds it stays ontop of it

with the stock posi in the back of the turbo models, it's not too bad, but you still ahve to fight to keep the rear tires where they belong...behind you. Keep your foot out of it, don't boost, get good snow tires and you might be alright, it's a skill that needs to be learned....and you can't drive on ice unless it's cold enough to act like concrete (some parts of the world it gets that bad). Don't they plow the streets up there? Anyways, it's up to you...try it out, you just gotta go slow....

awesome tips guys, thanx a bunch, and yes they shovel constantly but only sand on smaller streets, which even when driving my dads 2003 auto FWD malibu was hard not to slip, but yeah i drive alot, and unfortunetly am goignt o have to drive my supra in the winter when i get it (god i hope it forgives me) lol... but that's the price of living in winnipeg, i won't drive much anyways though, gas here recently went up to 119.9 per liter which is fucking nuts!!!, i see ppl put over 80 bucks in there mini vans now, lol... sucks, but what can ya do, except drive less, and i guess in winter that is for the best, anyways, thanx guys... any other tips about supras on snow lemme know, so far i got the get a second set of wheels with super good snow tires on them and just swap 'em on for winter, and sandbags... sounds good to me :D, thanx guys... :D
