About all you can do is make sure that you have the proper amount of clutch fluid in the reservoir, and that you have no clutch fluid leaks. Then make sure you bleed the lines

yep these cars seem to be finnicky with their bleeding i went through a full bottle of fluid before my clutch would fully engage and disengage and of course my slave is starting to go out now ... i was supposed to go to the track tomorrow

Default Clutch

Stop being a scaredy cat. Jack that sucker up get under it and get Greasy! I have done clutch replacement alone on my back. Was even alone wrestling the trans back in. Of course that was an MK2 so this one is probably a bitch to do. Don't forget to change the main rear seal while you are there. Putting the new plate back in is not too bad with the alignment tool they provide.

Can anyone tell me how bad it is to drop the trans? I know the starter bolts were tough are the rest of the bell housing bolts just as hard or harder to reach?

Just asking cause my clutch engaging seems kind of low to the floor right now.
Thanks, Scott
