These three fans have essentially nothing to do with how well the A/C works, best to think of them more as additional cooling for the engine to compensate for the increased load. The condenser fan (the 12" supplemental fan only on GTE equipped MKIIIs) does help the A/C but it's not going to keep it from working. The pre89 MKIII only had one of the small (5" or so) aux fans (it's white and right next to the main cooling fan).

Yes I have a belt on it.I will check on the coolant do you guys know where I can get a conversion kit if it runs the old coolant that is the other thing I was wondering about.

I have a targa also but I live in North Carolina and even with the top off it still gets boiling in the car sometimes,depends on how high the humidity is that day.

With the car running the way it is now getting it fast enough might mean walking down the road instead of driving LOL

Electric fans
Mine is an NA, I only have one fan like Cre stated and I have yet to see it run. My ac belt is not hooked up cause I didn't care about the AC at this point. Will my one fan still operate in real hot weather?
When should it turn on in an NA? OK I have ordered a new fan relay. Lets see what that does for my temp problem. Thanks, Scott |
