Thats what I was looking for man a fast but reliable ride. I currently have an 86 7mge and everyone wants a peice of it but its my daily!

Someone did tell me With what I have done to the motor I could just use my stock turbo system and turn the boost up. I do have a t3/t4 manifold already, but I might just put stock turbo system on-turn up the boost-see how I do-then upgrade later on.

I am still going to try and get my hands on one of them 1JZ intakes and a throttle body and I will go from there.

Hmmmm, I don't think the 1JZ/2JZ FFIM will drop into the 7M without any modifications. I know there is a couple of people that makes the 7M FFIM, one is Seth, Ron, and Lipp(I don't think they finished the prototype though).

I suggest doing a research first before you decide to jump in. It's not something cheap.

Someone with a brain. Thank you! There's so much bad advice in this thread. I'm outta here.

There's no way in hell with adding that and the mods you already have that you'll be close to 500 whp. The stock CT is only good for about 350 whp. And they do make upgraded CT's they have a 57 trim which is good for around 400 whp and they have a 61 trim which would probably be good for what you're shooting for. But in order to accomplish those numbers you'll probably going to want to get a MAFT pro setup or something along those lines. I don't even think a 7M with a LEX AFM can flow enough air to make 500 whp. To make that much horsepower you're looking at quite a bit of money, and a 500 whp 7M is not going to be very reliable unless you get it tuned very good and a professional tune is going to be quite pricey as well. So do your research and you'll find that you're looking at a lot more work than you think to make those kind of numbers.

heck ya. just the drop in air temp going into the motor alone can account for a noticeable difference, the drop in air temp is due to the fact the the pipe no longer goes over the top of the turbo and engine before entering the engine. and you will most likely get a bigger throttle body on that intake manifold, newer IC piping (if running stock IC piping and then switching to the aluminum, that alone is worth 10 - 20 hp without adj the boost) also a new intercooler because the stock one has the inlet and outlet on the same side whereas its preferred to have and normal intercooler with the inlet and outlet on opposite sides, that is more efficient as well ( the intercooler can give you another 10 - 20 hp) the stock IC piping and intercooler are so inefficient that they lose 3 psi at full boost. the stock 7mgte ran 6.8 lbs of boost and only got 3.8 lbs of boost to the motor. so to make a long story short if somehow you could only just change to the FFIM and leave everything else stock, yes you will get more hp, but due to the fact that you need a new throttle body (go big), new IC piping, and intercooler, you will notice GOOOD gains without touching the boost

Your wrong about your pressure drop theory. Its correct that the stock i.c. does have about a 3 psi drop but it doesn't mean your getting 3.8psi at the engine, you're getting exactly what the gauge reads, gauges read off of the intake manifold pressure which is after the intercooler. If anything the turbo is building about 10 psi and losing 3 psi through the intercooler which nets you about 7 psi in the intake manifold.

Hey guys thanks for all the opinions, dont think I'm not doing my research on it as well. I am new to this and I'm doing some research of my own =) Just wanted to see what you guys thought about it so I could get an idea of what I'm looking at.

Is it possible to get one made, homemade (FFIM)?? I have a cousin thats pretty good at welding. Again just asking opinions.

This is all you need to know, don't waste your time with anything else. It is more than a bolt on affair as you'll need a new throttle body, intercooler set up etc.

Ok thanks a lot

Comments and opinions really appreciated.
