Supra bogg under boost

Well... i have a problem with my car... Its still currently in a huge rebuild... but i have a question. When i use to slam on the gas, my check engine light would turn on under boost... and it would run ruffly. Any one have a thought of what it could be?

:whateva:<---ex owner of my car

Knock or a knock sensor error... could be an "irregular boost condition" error too, usually due to improperly upping the boost.

Checked for diagnostic codes yet? Details are in the FAQ section if you don't already know how.

No sir... i have not yet checked it. Ill check it now... still getting use to this site.
Sry for the pointless post.

Oh and i guess one last question... My car is swapped from an auto 7m to a 5 speed 7mgte. My gauge cluster dont work... how shall i fix that. Is it addaptable to my 5speed, or will i have to cave in and buy a new cluster.

What part of the cluster *doesn't* work?

The rpm and speedo.... Sry i forgot to mention that...

Also, im thinking of putting the 2-step from msd in my car... any one got input? What do i need to install?

The speedometer is cable driven, it doesn't matter which gauge you use.

The tachometer is different between the non-turbo (7M-GE) and the turbo (7M-GTE). You can either swap out some resistors on the control board in the cluster or you may swap the whole tach mechanism... if you have another cluster, just swap it; Otherwise let me know and I'll dig up the details on what you need to change in the circuit... if you can solder it's not too difficult.

If it helps you out at all, here's a picture of the tach PCB and what resistors need to be changed (highlighted in blue):

As for the actual details of how to go about getting at that board, soldering it, etc I hope cre will be able to help you out there as I have no clue. :)
