Do you keep ECT on?
I know that with ECT on, it waits longer to shit and its a rougher shift but my 1-2 shift is pretty rough, its a good jerk so checked the fluid and it seemed ok. So i tried shutting it off and its a lil better but that 1-2 gear is still kind of jerky. Do most of you keep the ECT on or keep it off?

haha i hear ya,
in my 84 i always keep it in power mode cuz everything else it totally lame. my first to second if i keep fully stomped will nearly bust me out sideways, and if there is moisture its a 100% chance of wheel spin with lsd engaging and sidways, its like a moron proof drifting car its even worse if i take it out of OD |

lol sorry it had to be done... Seriously though if I'm feeling skint (as usual!) and driving in town below 30-35mph it usually stays in eco & O/D-off, out on open roads I mainly use eco & O/D-on for top gear & only really use pwr or man settings if I'm either showing off or showing up M3s & 5s... or if there's plenty of juice in the tank pwr goes on then too as it just feels more sporty, remember though the Supra isn't meant to be an out & out sports car it's a GT and if you look at the car in that context the eco setting has it's value in that it gives nice relaxed cruising at lower rpm's & after all, if you want a kick in the back it's only the press of a button away so might as well use all the settings in their place really... |
