Dash Lights?????

Ok i just bought a supra, and recently the dash lights went off,
One is a Battery symbol, then another is an oil can over oil, the other is a car with rear lights beaming, and the last one looks the the chevy logo with lines over it,:help:
Really need help

Green7mgte 03-30-2010 09:28 PM

what do you mean?
your dash lights don't work? have you tried the dimmer =-)

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh....php?t=262353&

wtf. chevy logo?

im sorry I don't understand your question. that link explains the meaning of all the warning lights. are you saying your dash lights no longer come on?

possibly a fuse

2.5RHDsupra 03-31-2010 04:14 AM

Ok i was driving for about 10 minutes then the battery light turned on, as well as the car with its rear lights beaming, the oil can over oil and the symbol i still dont know about. As i said before its looks like the chevy symbol with wavey lines over it, i would upload a pic but i cant figure out how

Green7mgte 03-31-2010 12:19 PM

go to advanced auto parts or auto zone and have them test your battery. could also be your loosing power from your alternator. have them test those. its free

2.5RHDsupra 03-31-2010 03:31 PM

Im Guessing Its My Alternator because my old battery was dead, and im still losing power with the new one in, And I think the Weird symbol Has something to do with my catalytic converter,

Green7mgte 04-01-2010 09:05 PM

lol theres no cat symbol. which one on the link above is flashing for you?

MA70-3.0GT 04-03-2010 04:29 PM

I don't know if this is a JDM car we're on here, but on my digital dash there is indeed a cat/egt lamp which comes on with the rest of those described when the alt is dead & the battery goes below 12.00v...

EDIT-: except the oil pressure light which could be something or nothing, does your oil pressure gauge read OK?

Green7mgte 04-03-2010 10:40 PM

well it would be nice to know if its a digital or not.
bah.

post a picture of it. maybe thats what hes talking about.

2.5RHDsupra 04-03-2010 10:42 PM

Well, I Changed My Alternator and The Light Went Away, Haha

Green7mgte 04-04-2010 12:43 AM

I second that.

2.5RHDsupra 04-04-2010 08:29 AM

I dont Know How to Post Pictures.

btwilson86 04-04-2010 06:35 PM

Well, you'll need to upload the picture to a third party web address (such as Photobucket). Then when you post in here, there's a button in the tools right above the text box that has a mountain on a yellow background. Click it, and enter the url (web address) of your picture, and it'll post on here.

cre 04-04-2010 07:05 PM

You can also post images as attachments to your post.... it's done with the paperclip icon. If you need more detailed help try searching Google for "vBulletin how to post attachments" or something along those lines.

btwilson86 04-05-2010 12:48 AM

Ah, I knew there was a way to do it without an outside host. Thanks cre

MA70-3.0GT 04-08-2010 04:07 PM

Yeah thats a good idea, I seem to be the only one (except maybe 2.5RHD perhaps? do we know yet?) that's running the digi-dash. I'll get some piccies taken ASAP next time I get hold of a camera, could be a while mind since I don't actually buy stuff like that now I have a Supra in the fold haha... have to try borrow one.

Green7mgte 04-08-2010 06:11 PM

use your camera phone.. its ok if there not perfect.

MA70-3.0GT 04-10-2010 01:13 PM

umm yeah, except said camera phone A) will not speak to the computer to upload them. B) not allow me on photobucket etc due to crap memory. & C) will not take a picture clear enough to identify each light anyhow!

Oh the joys of cheapskate livin'... At least I get to drive a sweet car every couple of weeks when petrol money arrives! ;) (Oh yeah, it's ?1.21 per litre best price here now... And that's only regular, premium is over ?1.25. :rant2: Damn government taxes! :whateva:) Oh well, I makes me bed 'n' I lies in it...

Anyway I should be able to borrow a camera early next week & I'll get 'em posted.

EDIT-: Those ??'s are supposed to be pound signs, except they change when I hit post!!!

Green7mgte 04-10-2010 08:51 PM

since the topic of fuel was brought up. is it true you get taxed for driving on like the M9 and expressways like that at peak hours?

MA70-3.0GT 04-11-2010 03:53 PM

There are certain roads in the UK that have an extra toll on them over & above "road fund licence" tax (which can be anywhere between 20 quid a year up to 400 depending on what you drive, Supra's being around 200ish & incidentally it doesn't appear to have anything to do with funding the roads judging by the state they're in!).

Luckily it's mainly on busy stretches of motorway like the M6 & on that you have the option of paying or using the congested "free" part, but also in London there is a daily charge to drive into the city (not sure how much it is now as you'll never catch me in any city! :outahere:)

Either way it's pretty disgusting the state of affairs over here, first with said "road fund licence" then with the congestion charges/motorway tolls & capping it off with the ridiculous fuel prices which is about 80% tax anyhow. It wouldn't be so bad if there was something special about our roads like they were really clear or in good (read-: safe) condition, but they're just awful by any standards... Potholes, degraded 50+ year old surfaces, badly levelled repair sections, raised/sunken grids & manholes, subsidence & don't even get me started on the practice of "repairing" country roads by spreading inch thick chippings over them, cow crap & all, & then wondering why so many bikers end up dead in the ditch & the road's still shot a few weeks later after the chippings all go down the drain or in your windscreen. :whateva:

Anyway I'm gonna stop talking & thinking about it all now before I go find a length of rope and a tall tree. :rant2: [/rant] At least we've got roads and nice cars I suppose, we should just count our blessings that we have that privilege & we're not stuck in some 3rd world country trying to make an old Lada last a few more years with string & a hammer! :umno:

Green7mgte 04-11-2010 11:25 PM

to quote "topgear" (as best as i can remember)
they charge us all an extra fee for driving around early in the morning cause they think we do it to be really annoying.

MA70-3.0GT 04-17-2010 03:28 PM

Righty ho, got some new pics of my baby today and here's the dash. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) the battery isn't flat enough to set off the mentioned lights we wanted to see!!! Oh well here it is anyway...

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/100_1536.jpg

The lights mentioned (except the rear lamp warning in the second pic) wouls be in the bar under the twin trip/speed legends...

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/100_1538.jpg

Stock boost gauge only goes up to approx 6 psi & is thus useless!
