1986 MK3 7M-GE: simple cheap upgrades?
k i came across this supra and was wondering if there any tiny simple cost effective upgrade to make a tad bit more power or sound?.
- First of all i have to replace the thermostat and probably do a coolant flush at the same time. - Second of all i'm cutting off the muffler and throwing on a custom muffler(dont worry no walmart mufflers here). - Third i'm thinkin bout cutting my cats out. - Putting a different set of rims on - Fixing the doors a bit - Upgrading the head with: ARP Headstuds and HKS Metal HG. (i know this is a must) - Thinkin bout taking my clutch fan off to save a couple HP and throwing in an electric fan with seperate relay and switch. - Was thinkin bout doin lazy eyes converstion??? (not sure what to do bout that) - THEN Paint. not to nutz about a really expensive and nice looking paint. was thinking bout painting the car with a nice coat of Satin Black (all rust fixed of course) - Tint the windows - Stereo - Thennn probably Full tune up (Plugs, Wires, Etc.) anyone know where i can get aftermarket stuff like plugs, wires, filters, etc.) - Then Performance Mods!! (turbo, intake, manifolds, exhaust, suspention, interior, clutch, Etc.) gonna take this on as a project for probabaly the next year or so! would be great to get hooked up with some sweet deals on parts if possible!! let me know what you guys think. also advice would be cool or even some tip and tricks! Thanks. |
you don't need a mhg if you're not going for big hp, probably good idea to work on the head while its off too
And WoW another person who wants to put a turbo on a 7mge!! |
i know right.
yea redoing your head so you can put on a MHG isnt really needed. a good quality one is fine less you plan on going above 350 hp (safe number i assume) but if your supra is non turbo. your never gonna see those numbers anyhow. so a mHG is over kill. I wouldn't even take the chance of not getting the compression or the polish right. to finicky |
