want to put a turbo kit on 7mge

I want to put a turbo kit on my 1987 supra 7mge, anybody have done that before? How hard it is to do it ? Are there anything I should pay attention? Any instruction for that ? Any pictures ?

did you search at all for that?

step 1. sell your 7mge car
step 2. buy a 7mgte car

or,
step 1. sell your 7mge
step 2. buy a civic.

....this is not what I want....

Come on, really? Why??? I did some search, not that much good examples but I find lot of turbo kit for 7mge. 7mgte is not bad but the turbo is too small and I just rebuild my engine, I don't want to sell it now and buy another supra(and I won't buy a civic,no).... All the turbo kit I fond are not with instructions that why I came here to ask if anybody done that before so I can get more information about what I will do.. So it is not a good idea to put a turbo on 7mge or what ?

its a daunting task yes.
to get a better feel of the job at hand. lurk for a moment in the supra mania engine swap section.

you know you can upgrade the turbo's for the 7mgte. your not stuck with just the ct-26 model. you can get a t4 manifold and run a t4 turbo.

I've never seen a complete kit for a N/A-T with a 7M-GE. There's a lot more that needs to be done than just strapping a turbo and IC on.... and it's a pain in the @$$.

kamikazemkiii 03-16-2010 10:58 AM

na models are different than turbo.

Green7mgte 03-16-2010 04:02 PM

everyone is talking about these kits to upgrade your 7m to a 7mgte.. I didn't know this was even possible. sounds like some company is trying to advertise a "BOLT ON" kit for the 7m.

Ummm... those are all for MKIVs.... The 2JZ-GE is easier to turbo and better built.

Green7mgte 03-17-2010 12:10 AM

yea thats all i seen doing a google "bolt on turbo supra" search.
probably something off ebay

the blocks are all the same whether its an ge or a gte. there are plugs for the oil return and other turbo essentials alrady in the ge block. i have no doubt that the task is daunting, but i wouldnt discourage anyone from doing it. you will need to do some work on your head. your exhaust valves wont like the turbo so you will need some work in your valve train. obviously you will need an intercooler, but there is roall kinds of room in front of the ac condenser. you will need a new exhaust manifold also (again, obviously). i wouldnt be discouraged. it will be an intense project that will leave you knowing worlds about your car. there is no need being rude to a guy for wanting to try
