intercooler size?
 
so my 88 is about to get turbo'd and i'd like to know a good size intercooler to put up front. i found a ebay 28x7x2.5 for cheap just wanted to know if it would fit or not?

one more question...where do the oil feed line come from and where does the return dump into? and are the coolant hoses just t'd off from the factory ones?

I've never measured for the max IC size.

Can you better explain what you're talking about with the oil lines? Are you referring to the stock oil cooler or what?

the oil feed line to the turbo comes from where on the engine? then of course the return line, where does it flow back into?

Ah, ok... I missed that this is a N/A-T. Neither the stock oil return nor the stock oil supply are drilled on the N/A block. The oil supply is commonly done through placing a T at the oil pressure sender's port and connecting the pressure sender to one outlet and feeding the turbo from the other... this is unnecessary and requires fittings which are often hard to find. The simpler solutions are to use the 1/8BSP port which is by the water pump and plugged or to use the blocked off port below the oil filter by having the plate drilled and tapped for a hose fitting. Do not use larger than a -4AN hose and fittings for the supply or you may blow out the turbo's oil seal.

It's definitely preferred to have a machine shop drill and at least place the drain in the stock location... naturally, most people try to dodge this or just hope that the return isn't ever obstructed and place the return in the side of the oil pan (guilty as charged). This works fine but try to avoid boosting while cornering very hard in a left turn or again you may blow the turbo's oil seal. When going this route you want the return forward of center... there's really not much room to just put it anywhere so climb under the car and plan VERY carefully... a LOT of people end up haviong to redo the return due to bad placement. The return MUST face a main bearing cap; you don't want the crank flinging oil at the drain and adding even more potential for an obstruction.

You should swap in a GTE oil pump while you're at it, it flows a higher volume of oil. Also an oil cooler is a MUST. A higher flow fuel pump and larger injectors are a given as well.

I hope you've planned this out well. When planned out well they can be a blast, when jst slapped together, they're fun until they grenade.
