How would I convert my mechanical fan to an eletrical fan set up?

Any particular reason you want to? The stock fan setup is quite sufficient to keep the engine in the proper operating temperature range and doesn't require trying to get a generic shroud or shroud from another style vehicle to fit.

But if you like you can't convert your fan, you have to pull it and the clutch and find an electric setup which will A: fit in the available space, B: has a shroud which will fit properly on your radiator support, and C: moves enough air to keep your engine from cooking itself.

It can be done, but I personally consider it a waste of time, effort, and money that could be spent elsewhere on your Supra. :dunno:

Yeah because I don't want it to sounds like a muscle car. Replacing the mechanical fan will free up the engine better and eltrical fans can cool faster.

There's pro's and con's with electrical fan, like what mirage said. Flex-a-lite makes a set up for our MK3 as well as Adrenaline Motorsports. I would suggest upgrading your alternator to a 120Amp or 140Amp which Driftmotion sells. I suggest using a good Fan Controller with a thermostat that you can put into the water neck. I am not a fan of probe type thermostat.

Another great fan controller.

There is others, you just need to research them. If done right, it will give you no trouble.

I have been using the Flex-a-lite system for 5 years now and it's been great. Car is DD,..... with the PWM controller, the fan is not always on at 100%, depending on the temp, it's running at 25% to 80%. I have yet to see it at 100%. The AC runs colder though........and yes....it's pretty quiet when you start it up in the morning:)
