Let's Talk Exhaust

What kind of exhaust do most of you use? Stock or upgraded or what?

I cleared out my cat the other day and it sounded good, but loud isn't always best. Flow is always a good thing though, clogged cat = not so great.

Reason I bring this up is there are two rather bad rust holes in my exhaust (at the resonator and muffler) and I need a new one to pass inspection. Should I find a parts car and take theirs for 50 bucks? Or look for a nice cat-back that is under $200? I don't have a lot of money, but I also don't want a used exhaust that has the same problem. Any input? :bouncy:

I use a compleatly stock exhaust as of this moment. I replaced my pipes awhile back but didn't upgrade them. most restriction comes from the downpipe to the cat.
thats were the pipes really narrow. Don't worry about sound if your car is turbo. we don't make allot of exhaust sound. If it was me and my exhaust was in need of repair (again) I would just go straight back. considering you already disabled your cat. find a new dp, test pipe and cat back exhaust for a good price and take it! I mean your gonna want to upgrade your exhaust anyhow in the future so why not do it while your exhaust needs to be replaced instead of fixing it like i did and being stuck with stock set up cause you feel bad to replace something thats not broken. . ( situation that im in)
my exhaust set up is gonna go like this.. header (i need to fix an exhaust leak but cant constitute ripping my stuff off just to fix a minor leak (no matter how much boost im loosging atm.)) so im gonna start there so i can fix my leak at the same time. Dp straight pipe and then cat back exhaust later.

I reccomend getting a full 3' exhaust. Ive got a downpipe if you need it.

So might as well go for it while i need it huh? And a 3" is best? I can probably only afford the Catback right now, but I'll look into it.
Thanks.

It is not a turbo, sorry should have mentioned that. I will be somewhere where there is an 87 supra parts car and I'm going to take a look at their exhaust. If it looks good and they'll sell it to me for less then $50 bucks, im just going to have to wait till later to upgrade. Otherwise there was a walker catback for not too much that i might look in to.
