clutch pedal problem

Well today I went to start up my supra and something happened,
Usually it starts up almost everytime unless its cold. not today and i'm missing work because of it so any advise would be fantastic!

ok, I unlocked the door, sat down, put the key in the ignition, pressed down the clutch pedal for start up.(this is where things got odd) as I pressed the clutch pedal all the way down I think I heard a small kink. naturally I took my foot off the pedal and it only poped back about half way as if stuck in mid engagement. i felt around by the pedal and nothing was loose. the problem im having is the clutch pedal seems to be stuck there and wont pop out like usual. I can give it a small pull and it will pop out all the way. pressed down, pop back halfway, small tug and it pops all the way out like usual. I havn't started the car seince this happend a few hours ago.

clutch pedal spring, cable or hydrolic? cylinder fluid?
has this happened to anyone?
I've had it happen to my old Honda CRX, clutch cable came loose, tightend the adjusting nut and bam fixed.

Hydraulic clutch. Check for oil along the floorboard behind and below the pedal, along the firewall and under the master cylinder and under the slave cylinder on the lower left side of the bell housing. Hopefully that's it, the other possibilities that come to mind are a lot harder to fix such as a stuck throwout bearing. I suppose it's also possible the fork came off the throwout bear or broke; I don't know how likely that is though.

EDIT: You know, given the sound you heard you might also want to make sure the connecting rod that runs through the fire wall and connects to the pedal is still attached and that the pin which holds it in hasn't fallen out.

once again, CRE to the rescue! I just spent about 1hr checking my pedal system. besides the extreme amount of rust on everything it all checked out i even checked the connection rod and freeplay. just to admit a mistake which is the first thing I should have checked the master cylinder fluid level. it was bone dry, for some reason i figured the brake cylinder resovior was the clutch resiovior. i never thought it was so small. located right of the brake cylinder. I'm going to fill it up, bleed the clutch line and hopefully everything will be good.

now what also confused me is the type of fluid both looked the same, maybe brake fluid? does a 7mgte use dot 3 brake fluid in clutch?
what fluid is reccomended for 7mgte clutch?

on this topic after going bone dry would u not have to bleed the clutch now??

i know this would be for brakes, but i am assuming the same for this type of clutch and brakes.

shoot, I would. Less air in the line is healthy? I would just gravity bleed them tho. brake fluid is thicker then air, so eventually all the air will be pushed outa the system. I own an automatic so I never had to deal with any clutch issues but I heard locating the slave cylinder is a pain.

Nah, the slave on these cars is easy to get to. And yes, I would bleed it too.

It IS leaking from somewhere though, keep an eye out for the leak and fix it before you get stuck somewhere. ;)
