I've seen a 2JZ in an OLD Subaru station wagon... you'll be getting no slappage here. ;)
As far as what you'lll need... well, I'd look for a complete front clip myself. You'll need at a minimum: long block, intake manifold and plenum, throttle body, intercooler piping, intercooler, turbos, blow off valve, exhaust manifold and down pipe, ECU, engine harness, dash harness, fuse box, igniter, coils, an electric fuel pump that is made for EFI systems... all the usual stuff really. I can't think of anything else i'm missing at the moment. I'm sure someone else will chime in if there's something to be added to the list though. |
Also, think about an electric fan and fan controller, and 2jz water pump and pully kit. The 1jz normally uses a hydraulic fan set up, and unless you can get all the parts for it and set it up to work properly (good luck), it'll probably burn through the water pump and you'll have to get a 2j pump anyway. The 1j water pump has an integrated hydraulic pump for the fan, so with no hydro fluid running in there bearings will eventually burn out, and you'll need a new water pump anyway.
Like to know what you're swapping it into though, it's always nice to hear someone's ideas. |
