Default new to toyota and have a few questions about my mk3

So I just bought a 1987 mk3 7mgte damn near completely stock. When I bought the car it had a 1.2 mm steel head gasket, ct26 toyota turbo, arp head studs, divorced flex downpipe, and an APEXI turbo timer. I am interested in doing some fairly cheap upgrades and also some needed upgrades. I want to get a good ontercooler setup with a good bov, and a good boost controller, preferably electronic. Are there any suggestions on toyota owners prefered parts and accessories? And where could i find these parts?

Thanks Kyle

I am a newbie here, so someone please correct me if I'm incorrect... would rather be educated than oblivious...

I didn't see a cold air intake mentioned here... maybe that's something that already comes installed on a turbo? But even still, there's better ones out there than the stock sleeve.. and if you don't have one yet, I'd imagine that'd probably be your next biggest bang for your buck before going to high priced items...

well i honestly am just looking for things to up the life of my car and my turbo. i kno that blow off valves can increase the life of your turbo because it releives pressure from the turbo instead of sending back through the intake. and a turbo timer feeds extra oil to the turbo by keeping your car running a little bit longer after you turn the key offand a boost controller will allow me to control the amount of boost i desire for the driving conditions. but what i thought was a turbo timer that came with the car is actually not.i dont kno what the hell it is ill post pix and specs of it when i get a chance and see if any one else can tell me their oppinion. also my car is set at 10psi but im pretty sure that stock boost is not 10. and i dont have any extras like bigger turbo or better intercooler to up the boost automaticly. so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

The thing that looks like a turbo timer could be an electronic boost controller, which would explain why you hit 10 lbs of boost. Or someone may have shimmed the wastegate already.

Keep in mind that if you go with a blow off valve, you're car would not have as much power right after you shift without some further upgrades to support it. You can get an aftermarket recirculating valve (like the one the cars come with) which will still give a cool sound (just quieter) but feeds it back into the intake like the ECU expects to have happen.

thats what i am thinking that it is, an electronic boost controller. it says super actuator control valve. and it reads boost i think. i will prolly end up taking it somewhere and seeing what it is and if it works correctly
