Oil Pressure

I was wondering what kind of oil pressure readings everyone gets from their stock oil pressure gauge. Please note if the car is turbo or not.

After i start up my 86.5 7mge and drive for about a minute I hold a steady reading of 40lbs after the car gets to the right temperature i hold about 20lbs when I am driving at 2000rpms and if I'm idling it can drop to anywhere from 10lbs to 0lbs

Mine does EXACTLY this... 87 7mge... looking online, we're at the very bottom end of the oil pressure specs, but within margin... I've had the car about a month, never noticed any leaks, and she's been parked for 2 weeks now, so I'd think I'd notice. First thing I did when I got her was had an oil change, and nothing was found wrong... however, later that same day, I had her in a shop for alignment and brakes (which never got done due to the estimates given) and I was told the oil pan gasket had a split.. I think it was just bs to get $480 in "labor" from me for a job that didn't have to be done... labor they spent elsewhere.. I've still not found any problem with the seal between my oil pan and my engine.. :roflwtf:

in short, I think you're good... you can look into changing oil weights... I believe that effects the oil pressure too... the change in oil pressure has to do with temperature and pressure under load.. from my understanding anyways..

thanks for the info. I think I am going to flush the motor soon and replace the oil pan so when I do that i will check for leaks but my car was sitting for a month and I didn't notice any leaks either.

lemme know how that works for you... if it makes a difference on the pressure... cause if so, I might have to fork out the money to drop the suspension and lower the oil pan and get 'r done.. too bad can't just drop the oil pan normally...
