$29,500 new?!?!? I'm confused... is this a mk3 or mk4?!?

At $6,500, I'd expect this thing to have a JDM swap and some added work. However, there's no pix of the engine bay and the pictures are not serving justice.. the only mods he's mentioned done to the car are cosmetic in nature. In Nevada, a historic car cannot have performance mods, and I'd imagine the same applies in Maryland. Which tells me this guy doesn't really have anything under the hood except for a 7mgte that hopefully has seen an oil change every 3,000 miles and has been maintained properly and was never, or rarely, neglected. The price suggests that he's looking to sell, but he's not wanting to sell. I might see paying $4-$4.5k for that... I'd also take the stock wheels and tires if he's soo firm on the price because of the aftermarkets... they don't look that impressive in the photo anyways...

Try checkin ebay, craigslist in other cities nation wide... that will help give you a broader idea of price ranges. Personally, I kept looking between Vegas, LA and Phoenix. I saw some turbos down around $2.5k, but most needed some work or came w/ salvage title. A lot of non-turbo's here in vegas sell for $800-$1400 while not in running condition. I thought I lucked out w/ mine at $2k in strong condition till something went wrong in the fuel system and she's been parked for 3 weeks now. However, rarely do I see non-turbo's over $2.5k unless some work has been put into it. So I can see $6.5k for a worked on mk3... but I'd have to guess it's priced for the love put into the car, not the work... what you'd be paying the extra money for is peace of mind... which I thought I had with a strong running supra, till one unfortunate right turn when everything just stopped. End point, there is no 100% peace of mind, unless the guy gives you a guarantee... and that'd be the only way he'd get $6.5k outta me for that supra.

To each his own... this is just my two cents and observations from the west coast.. if you decide to get her, congrats... enjoy and I wish you the best of luck... just let us know what happens eh?

Edit:
Just looked this up on KBB using 21201 as zip... did 115k miles (figuring the guy is rounding down). Sport Roof, Leather, cruise, power everything, auto, ac, am/fm, cassette player... and... as you can see for yourself, he really wants a lot for his love... JIC you can see: Excellent condition is $3,685; Good condition is $3,310; Fair condition is $2,885... it definately looks and sounds like it's in Excellent condition, but as you can see, about $3k over kelly blue book... might as well be buying from a used car lot at that point..
