Silicone hose in EGR lines?

Just purchased hose techniques silicone vacuum hose kit. Any compatibility problem using silicone hose to replace hoses in EGR system? For example those stubby hoses from cam covers up to air inlet tube?

Also, the larger diameter (approx 3/4 inch ID) EGR hose that leads off of the front of driver's side cam cover down to somewhere is split and needs replacing. Can I use heater hose?

Check this out Link .The silicon hose your referring to will probably be a silicon performance grade hose, in which case it should withstand a small amount of oil and oil vapour. The large hose going from the front cam cover to the block also carries oil and oil vapour, not sure if a water hose would be ideal. It probably wouldn’t show any signs of detriation for a long time.

The short tube lengths that connect to the cam covers were rock hard and brittle, and had to be cut off with a chisel. If the silicone doesn't last long, at least those aren't too hard to get to next time. I've got to replace that large hose that connects to the nipple on the left cam cover, but don't wish to see Toyota's price. Perhaps stock hydraulic hose will be the answer. Thanks for your help.

I also got that SVH kit for my 87.5 7MGTE, in fact that is my engine in the customer rides gallery. It is a great deal and im pretty sure you wont have any problems with what your talking about. Anyways the HoseTechniques kit comes with a life time warranty, so even if a hose screws up they will replace it for free!

As for the "nipple" on TOP of the cam cover, just take that crappy hose off and buy a two dollar breather filter from an auto store.
And if not, the silicon hoses should be stout enough to re-route blow by gas.
