Straight Pipe
 

I have an 87 N/A and was wondering what the benefits of a straight pipe would be in place of a catalytic converter. I realize it wouldn't pass smog but would the mpgs and hps get a little better? Maybe in conjunction with a better muffler I would see improvements? Thanks for any help.

oh yeah, you get like 5 hp lol. your cars louder. and you get some mpg's i have a straight pipe. and i love it lol. until it comes to emissions. than i gotta get under and replace lol. but it is very useful.

maybe u guys can help me out, im changing my head gasket and my exhaust while im at it. i have 3in exhaust pipes waiting and acces to a downpipe, i wanted to go straight pipe but want a muffler at the end that will fit 3in exhaust piping but wont get smaller at the very tip
