another thing is that the supra is almost unknown (at least in sweden) for the toyota mechanics and that increases the risk of errors, aswell as paying for "headscratching" time. Back when i had BHG i felt the mechanics did the outmost to convince me doing it myself. Even copied from their handbooks and gave me. If you plan and take your time its no problem. Get a repairbook.

Hmmm money money money. Im in college plus school I don't have really any time to play with my supra. I'm also about done putting a new engine in my 83 gti.
Also I have never really dealt with the interior of the engine before..I got engine swap done nicely but didnt have to deal with the interior. So im not exactly sure what to do. Does the manual guide you pretty well or is there a thread of sorts i could look at?

yes the repair manual tells you exactly what to do (the book). The internet manual should be simular. I had about the same experiance as you the when i fixed my bhg and it worked fine. Plus ... toyota mechanics will torque the headbolts with standard torque wich we all now is too little. Check the head for straightness, both under and above and diagonaly with a steel ruler. If the engine sometime have been too hot the head can twist, better start with another one if so.
