I have an igniter that came off a turbo supra and out of curiousity i just wanted to see what would happen if i put it on my non-turbo. So I whent on and did it, you could say im kind of stupid for doing it but i knew that something could happen, besides I want to drop a 2.5TT on it. So I turned on my car and the RPM's just flew to 3000RPM's and wouldnt drop. What does the igniter do? Can it damage my engine if i were to leave it like that?

put it back to stock dude.... there's a reason toyota didn't use the same ignitor and yes it will damage the engine
imagine starting it stone cold... hasn't built up correct oil pressure and it revs to 3000rpm, i would say rod knock won't be far behind if you continue just keep the ignitor there and get the rest of the turbo parts and do yourself a turbo swap ;) |
Thankz.
