i put mine in the block . exhaust side outside of #6

under the exhaust manifold there is a capped off drain . threaded

I have seen a sensor in the radiator hose on a few different vehicles. They cut a certain portion out and put a metal pipe there, then thread the sensor onto that with a bung. Just have to be carefull about the wire near the cooling fan.
