Replacing rear pinion seal

I need to replace my pinion seal on my rear diff. Any pointers? I have the pinion seal and side differential seals ordered.

If you haven't done so yet, get the http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...9950-tsrm.html

I suggest you get access to air tools, especially a good impact wrench. The pinion flange bolt is a serious PITA without one. The factory torque setting is 134 ft-lbs. And yours has been on there for at least 13 years. It will not come off easily. Did you get a new spacer/crush sleeve? These are also suppose to be replaced when the pinion nut is removed. This guy is important to set the proper pre-load on the pinion bearings. Some shade-tree mechanics go ahead and re-use the old one, but most professionals say it is a No-No, and will lead to quick failure of the pinion bearings. I say, replacing it is cheap insurance. For the rest, follow the TSRM.

P.S. Air tools only to remove. Use a torque wrench to reassemble.
