Here's the BS he told me...
He said that the crankshaft was warped from overheating - something he should have told me before. So how did the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics decide to skip the block? Everything is fine there. I can't imagine the crankshaft warping from so much overheating. Besides, I drove it perfectly fine to his place. I can't imagine damaged main and rod bearings and a damaged crankshaft the way I drove it. At least he confessed that he damaged the bearings.

He pulled the engine out because he did a full gasket replacement aside from the head work.
This friend is a mechanic - I took it to him because he had no work, but apparently he never dealt with a Supra. A few months ago I did a bhg post on how to go about doing the job myself, but with work and school I didn't want to take forever doing it - and it cost me.
