Yea, there will almost always be some metal shavings there, just make sure clean it up very well and if you can get a finger on the inside of the tranny see if you can scoop any more out. After that it should be good with new gear oil, if the previous oil was beat then the new oil will make a world of diffrence.
Make sure you change the rear diff as well, if its a open diff then you can use the same gear oil that goes into the tranny, if its a LSD then you have toget gear oil that has a LSD additive or get the additive and add it to a gear oil. Good luck. |
