crankshaft pullie bolt questions

Me and my dad are try to replace the timeing belt and we are stuck on this bolt, it keeps breaking oh wrenches trying to turn it to the left and we are wonder if we should try it to the right or buy a better sockit, 19mm on a 3/8 wrench. Should we buy the 1/2 inch wrench?

Buy a better socket or take the radiator out and hit it with an impact wrench.

Yeah definitely a better socket and get some leverage on the end of your ratchet like the handle of a floor jack or something. 1/2 inch will work if you keep breaking 3/8's

thanks for the replies. My dad put his whole weight into it and it came loose.

So we put it back together now and when we started it up there was a knock in the top end. My dad thinks it's a lifter arm that's not comeing up all the way but I would like to hear some input.

Thanks
