Hey everyone, im 19 and live in southern california, i own an 04 scion xb on spray, a 1960 ranchero with a 302 thats getting a 2jz swap (mwuhahaha) and now my 89 auto n/a supra. i love owrking on cars and usually will not let a mechanic anywhere near one. i already posted a topic about a ks code and sensor plug but i never introduced myself. About 4 months ago i picked myself up a 89 atuo n/a with a BHG (go figure) for 500 bucks. The clear is oxidized but thats no biggy for me, and the body is in perfect shape really, interior is clean and complete cept for 2 little rips. I tore the head off, got my hands on some ARP studs (not bolts, its what they had) an oem quality head gasket kit, and put her all back together at 80ft/lb and replaced little things here & their and finally got her running "ok" she doesnt like to start at first no matter what time of day, but once its been started once, it starts perfect every time, car doesnt pull for crap, but im sure now thats the KS code, and that the tranny needs to be cleaned out, feels almost like its slipping (auto

Check your codes. I had knock sensor and TPS codes on mine. After i fixed both of those and adjusted the timing it starts up right away....

Welcome. Where's the Ranchero Pic! I love those cars.. very very hard to find up here right now, but my father in-law is looking for either an old Ranchero or El Camino. He would probably like to see the pic.
I was gonna buy one with a lowstall torque converter about 20 years ago, but I couldnt keep the tires from spinning, so I opted out. : ) |

im going to get the new KS connector today becuase their isnt one at all lol. well starting wise, it will turn over for like 5-6 secs the first time i try, ill stop, then try agian, itll turn for a few secs, then try to start but wont, ill try one more time, and then itll start, and after it starts once, itll start fine every other time. it doesnt have the KS and no coolant temp sensor, just fyi. ya the ranchero was on supraforums for the 2jz swap topic, only a few people supported me but owel. ya the problem with the 302 is that it gets like 10 miles a gallon, and my rear end is very tall, so it has no low end power it seems. but the 2jz will be stronger and more fuel efficient, and just plain kick ass.
