a few questions

replaced the exhaust manifold gasket and all is well but... i have major smoke coming out my exhaust when i go from a stop. i dont know why im doing this but i also have turbo fluter. i didnt mess with the turbo at all. i took it out according to tsrm and put it back in the same order and all but i dont know why i am having problems. also it still dies after i push the clutch in. but i found a temp. fix for now... ha i just turn on the ac to make it rev higher because it is finally warm enough to have it on here. i also replaced almost all the vac. lines. again.

what color is the smoke? bluish grey? or seeminly "normal" color smoke?

suprakid91 06-07-2008 03:10 AM

it looks like normal smoke. but something tells me theres nothing normal about it.

Theres nothing normal about smoke unless its after lifting off after full boost. Look really closely at color. Black means theres too much fuel, blue means oil is getting in somehow, and white means coolant is getting in somehow

it is after i lift off from full boost and its looks almost like a white color.

CyFi6 06-07-2008 05:44 AM

I am not positive i am fully accurate on saying this, but from what i have read it seems that its relatively normal to get BLACK or GREY smoke from the tailpipe after lift off, because the car is running so rich and the second you lift off, its still momentarily rich until the computer adjusts, therefore the smoke. But if it is white, thats not fuel related and should be looked into.

yeah. it also is smoking as im on the gas so it smokes as im on it and after i let off it just gets more intense of a smoke cloud behind me. its almost embarrassing to drive it right now which is why it will sit till i figure out what to do with it. how much does it cost to do a complete 1jz-gte swap?
