Washington owners?

I live in the Spokane, WA area and am interested in meeting a 7M-GTE MKIII ownerer in the area. I don't mind going just about anywhere in Washington to meet. Looking for somebody who has a or has had good experience with Supras. I would like one who's had some experience with the cars to give me their two cents on the running condition of my rig. I bought a used 1990 MKIII with 103000 on it. My baby ist a 7M-GTE. The car thus far runs great but seeing as how I am a newb Supra ownerer I would like some external input on the running condition of this vehicle. Perhaps there are symptoms (sounds and such) that I may not be aware of. Turbo boost seems to work well, haven't taken it to 8 pounds but I really am not trying to run this thing too hard till I know how it sits. The worst problem I've had thus far is my speedometer failing on the way back from Portland just after buying it. I mean, can anybody even point to some links that may be able to help me diagnose the true failure of my speedo? I simply have assumed that the cable is broken, but maybe simply disconnected? The TSRM doesn't really help at all and I don't have experience with this at all. This car is going to be built to be a beast, but not quite yet. Need to take care of the minor issues first before moving on to the next level of tweaking. Any help is greatly appreciated and don't assume that I have nothing to trade for time well spent making a friend. :wavey:

Its nice to see fellow supra owners in the spokane area. i have a red '91 turbo 5 speed. One of my roommates also has an '89 turbo 5 speed. We are both pretty mechanically inclined. We have a lot of extra supra parts between the two of us. There are a few other supras running around spokane, but not many. Just let me know if you have any questions or anything.

I'm a newb to the forums, and am also a fellow washington owner up in Tacoma. My 95 jetta GLX just got totalled, so i decided to buy a 88 7m-gte 5 speed and love the car so far!!! Im lookin for a grey drivers and passenger seat within the state that i could come pick up. If ya got one for sale just pm me! :x:Thanks!

Conga1991 12-05-2010 03:30 AM

Anyone know of any shops that are reliable with fixing a possible wiring problem?? I just swapped a 7mgte into my na and it wont spark. If you like to ask questions on what I did go ahead and ill tell you everything. It's been in my garage for about 6 months or so and need to get it running ASAP!!

Every help is appreciated!!

CanadianBak'inSupra 12-05-2010 09:55 AM

if you have a manual it should tell you what wire colors are for what for the ecu. also i would suggest getting a test light or multi meter.

Conga1991 12-05-2010 06:04 PM

I do have a manual, but won't the test light not work since the spark plug wires aren't getting any spark??
