aaaiiyyyaaa!!!

Ok, i am putting my rich problem on hold in light of new events. So, i changed my oil today and what did i find? Well, i found that one of the seals on my exhaust has completely melted away leaving a nice 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch crack between the two pipes. My car runs lean in idle and i think this is the cause because of compression... reassure me please. i am replacing this as soon as possible and will update what happens. i also found that a tube coming out of the bottom of the radiator was leaking a red fluid that smelled like transmission fluid. Sealed the loose clamp but is it possible that it was transmission fluid? Yet more questions i need answers too... thanks in advance.

It probably was atf. We use that in our pwr str'ing pumps as well.

I need more detail to affirmate your issues.

What hose melted away? Got pics????

EDIT: Unless you're using toyota coolant.
Which is red in color.

if you have an automatic transmission, there is a segment of your radiator used specifically for transmission fluid. there are two lines going to and from this spot on your radiator. if they are leaking, FIX THEM. the auto trannys really dont like it when they get hot. even though you can find another one for like $200, its the labor to swap it out.

the exhaust gasket thats leaking should have nothing to do with your running too rich. depending on your mods, youll run rich anyways. the only thing the gasket will do is possibly make the cabin smell, and make the exhaust a lot louder.

Ha Ha, im glad you guys are using this as a little chat room. Just so ya know though i fixed the transmission fluid leak and looked all over for those 3 inch gaskets with no luck. Finally i jumped online and found some custom chrome ones that i will recieve in about a week. Problem solved. for now...
Just wondering, nothing bad about driving it without the catback?

supramacist 05-20-2008 12:53 AM

No cat= worse than average gas milage.

Ummm... For some reason it runs even more lean during idle now. I think all these exhaust and intake uprgades has run it a little lean. Any ideas on what to do?
