coolant on top of piston

my car keeps on lossing coolant and i don't know where it gos there is no coolant leak on the car but when i drive around for 15, 20 min it would spet the coolant back out. i was reading on the forums and people say its the hg. but i just did a 2.0 mm HKS hg on my car about a year ago and i wasn't boosting any psi and still have the stock ct26. i check my oil it looked fine, but forgot what kind of color that was comeing out of the tial pipe. so i left my car untouch for two weeks. untill 4/28/08 i started working on it i thought it was my water pump so i was going to replace it. i took everything off and was going to put the new one back on, but decided that might as well check the head gasket sens im under the hood. so i took every thing off and when i went to pull off the head i found coolant and oil on top of the piston. is that bhg or jaket leak???? but its 2.0 hks hg can it do that? can any one out there till me what i did wrong on my first hg change or was it some thing else. is the block still good? can i reuse it? do i need to resurface the head?sorry asking so many question.

I have to ask. Did you guys have any clue that high performance meant high maintenance and rhymes with high dollar???

Honest question

It scares me that you said you just slapped a gasket on it and whatever other things you rambled on about.

You did this yourself or payed to have it done?

Was any machining involved?

You'll be lucky if you didn't just scrap your engine.

EDIT: anything that requires oil as a lubricant. can NEVER come in contact with coolant.
why? because oil will never bond to that surface after coolant touches it.. if its on top of your piston.
its inside your cylinder walls.

no i took the head to a machinist to resuface it and check out all the valves.he resurface it and say the valves look good.
but thanks guys

if you used ARPs they have to be retorqued after a certain mileage its in the instructions that come with em

supramacist 05-01-2008 06:34 PM

What did you with the block??? Machine wise?

sevenmgte 05-02-2008 02:04 AM

i didn't know that i had to do the block too, so thats why i did not resueface the block last time. this time will sure do it, but i don't know if the block is still reusable does any one know? cause when i turn the crank shaft bolt to rotate the piston there's water/coolant on the wall of piston hole that sucks. one more thing, i drain oil and it was not mix with coolant.thats good right?

It's going to have to be machined inside and out and you're going to have to buy real performance parts instead of just toyota oem.

I'm not sure that you shouldn't cut your losses.
